BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
Rapid Distributors Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help us in meeting our goals for 2024 and beyond. The Manufacturing Engineer will perform engineering duties in planning and designing residential/commercial garage doors, hardware components, and other infrastructure. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for plant material transformation flow set-up and improvement, including optimizing manufacturing process flow, warehousing storage, dunnage design, and other facilities processes and layouts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
- Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
- Assist in defining plant layout, space requirements and facility improvements.
- Implement systems to improve material flow and increase storage capacities that ensure FIFO material movement in a JIT environment.
- Design racking and dunnage that increase storage per square foot and warehouse and transportation utilization.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Plan, procure, commission and qualify new systems, tools and fixtures.
- Provide input on continuous improvements of both product and product development process.
- Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality and delivery, in PFMEA development and improvements, and participate in CAT (cost reduction) activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S). in Engineering from four-year college or university and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in OEM manufacturing with stage gate product development
- Experience in using techniques for early issue detection like PFMEA’s.
- Experience in using Lean Methodologies such as TOC (theory of constraints), Pull Production.
- Experience in DOM (design for manufacturing), Error proofing strategies, Poka-yoke products and process design, Sequenced line design, mixed model assembly line balancing
- Candidate must poses the ability to write comprehensive virtual E-Build technical instructions which are then used as assembly reference documents and assist with operator training
- Ability to take precise measurements using specialized equipment and techniques for commissioning of equipment and fixtures, or to assist with root cause determinations
- Active knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCad, MS Office, MS project and understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
- Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining.
- Ability to stay abreast on current and new technologies and advances in the engineering field. Attend formal professional development seminars and conferences as needed. Conduct self-directed studies by reading journals and trade publications.
- Summary: Responsible for clerical functions and administrative support of Rapiddist.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer telephones and direct inquires in a professional and client centric manner.
Maintain confidential personnel files.
Assist management staff in preparing confidential employment and labor relations documents, including but not limited to proposed disciplinary notices.
Assist with staffing, including finding staff when employees call out on short notice.
Work effectively and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and supervisors.
Perform daily bank deposit reconciliation.
Process vendor invoices for payment – using a computer, making sure addition is correct checking item prices against bid specifications, and making sure there is no discrepancy in pricing. Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliation. Assist in preparation of end of month financial reports. Maintain clean and safe work environment; ability to perform job safely.

Essential Functions:
- Applies all cash receipts, makes adjustments and/or deletions in company accounting software.
- Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing data. Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responds to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assists with internal and external audits.
- Provides assistance to both the Assistant Controller and Controller providing assistance as needed on month end processes and any special projects.
- Performs the cycle counts on company warehouse locations on a scheduled/regular basis. Ensures inventory reporting is accurate and reported accordingly.

Position Requirements:
- 3+ years in accounting role
- Advanced Excel Skills
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Bachelors in Accounting (preferred)
- Valid Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
